There are so many reasons why I became an infant development advocate. But I wanted to share one of them with you because I’m so passionate about my career choice and believe it with my whole heart.
What I do
Although most of you probably know by now, I am an Infant Development & Montessori Consultant and the founder of Baby Tour Guide Inc. I absolutely love what I do and am passionate about what I advocate for!
My fascination with infant development began a long time ago, when I first began to nanny a sweet baby boy. I have always been an observer, and noticed immediately that so much was happening in his little mind and body. From that point on wanted to learn more.
From there the rest is history… I spend the next decade of my life getting my degrees, certifications, and experience in Infant Development and Montessori. I spent many years with my own class, leading informational mommy and me, working with families, and training teachers. And my passion has evolved as I have.
Why I Advocate
My passion is healthy and empowered infant development. And throughout my years of working with infants, my beliefs have evolved and strengthened coinciding with my continued education.
Some of the phrases that I have commonly heard over the years working families in my field (and why I became an Infant Development Advocate) are that “Babies just play”, “Babies don’t do anything”, “Babies don’t understand”, and “I’ll focus on educating once they get older.”
Those are just some examples of why I got into this field, started my own company, and write this blog here for you all. All of those parents that said those things were loving, great parents… they just didn’t know.
They didn’t know that:
Babies brains double in size in their first year.
The first few years of life affect the trajectory of the rest of their lives.
Every single interaction will affect the next.
And how they are making mental connections every second.
So I found it my responsibility and calling to venture beyond my classroom and school, which I still very much love and miss, to be with you all! My hope is to be able to reach you loving parents, educators, and more to empower your perspectives on infants and foster your love for infant development.
Much love to you guys as always and a very happy holidays to you!
