Looking for some fun Fall (and Montessori approved) activities for your baby or toddler!? Well look no further!
Fall is such a special time of year. The leaves begin to change & fall from their trees, pumpkins start to show up on every corner, and of course this means that the Fall and spooky season is upon us!
In this post, we will be going over some fun Fall activities that you can easily do with your baby or toddler!
Montessori Fall Activities for Babies & Toddlers
There are so many fun Fall activities that can be offered to your sweet baby! I have listed some of my favorites below…
Basket of Gourds or Pumpkins
Offering a basket of grounds for your baby to explore is not only an amazing sensorial opportunity, but it’s a great language lesson as well!
Here are some of the baskets that I recommend.

Also, you can find small pumpkins and gourds at your local farmers market or grocery store! I like to grab mine at Trader Joe’s.
These gourds can also be dried out and made into rattles or instruments! It takes a bit of time to dry them out, but once it has dried it’s a forever keepsake.
Check out my post on how to DIY Your Own Rattles or Instruments out of these gourds here!
Fall (or Halloween) Hand or Foot Art
Baby handprint and footprint art is one of my favorite fun seasonal baby activities! Baby hand art is an amazing and cute way to document how big their hands (or feet) were during that specific season or event. (Don’t forget to date each piece of art)
If you’re looking for paints and paper that are baby safe and washable, these are the ones I typically use.
Basket of Fall Themed Known Objects (Categorized Language)
Similarly to the basket of gourds, you may find it fun to offer a basket of Fall items! Things you could add into this basket are:
- A small cornucopia
- An apple
- A larger (non choking hazard) acorn
- A small gourd or pumpkin
- Large colored leaves
- Cinnamon stick
- Anything else you can think of!
Fall Language Cards
Making your own Montessori categorized Fall language cards for your baby or Toddler is an amazing way to bring Fall to your baby!
Gluing, Cutting, Stringing (Toddler Work)
All three of these fun traditional Montessori Toddler Activities can easily have a Fall twist! Just add in some Fall confetti leaves to your gluing activity, encourage your child to cut the lines on a paper leaf, or offer stringing of leaves or acorns!
Fall Art
You can have your baby or toddler color, brush paint, dot art, or finger paint any Fall or Halloween themed activity!
You can find some cute ideas on my Baby Art Pinterest Board linked here!

Have an amazing Autumn, friend!
