I am so excited to be introducing the very first episode of my Montessori Babies Podcast! This project has been a long time coming so I am so excited to be finally announcing my podcast news!
In this first episode, I wanted to introduce myself for those of you who don’t know me. I also wanted to share my definition of Montessori and offer a quick overview of what Montessori is in Infancy and Toddlerhood as a light introduction before we take a deep dive later on!
Who Am I?
My name is Bianca Solorzano and I am a Baby Development & Montessori Consultant for my blog and business, Baby Tour Guide.
I have spent the last 10 years helping parents, educators, and caregivers optimize baby development through a Montessori Lens. I spent many years running my own Nido (or Montessori Infant Classroom), offering consulting services for both school & home experiences, working in Montessori Admissions, teaching Mommy and Me, offering Parent Ed. Events, and more!
And within my time working and growing with all of these amazing people, I have learned quite a bit. Which is why I started this platform!
My higher education is also all about optimizing baby and toddler development! I have my Masters in Montessori Education, My BS in Child and Adolescent Development, my Associates in Communication Studies, my Early Childhood Teaching Certification, and am AMI Montessori Trained from Birth – 3 years.
It’s so nice to meet you!
What is Montessori?
After my many years of studying and living a Montessori lifestyle, the Montessori definition I have come to is this…
Montessori is a pedagogical approach to education based on the research of Dr. Maria Montessori that is aimed at optimizing the natural progression of human development.
And the Montessori lifestyle can be implemented at any age, as much or as little as you’d like. It all starts with following the child’s natural progression of development.
What are Montessori Babies?
Living a Montessori lifestyle is an amazing way to optimize development from the start! And you don’t necessarily need all the fancy materials to get started.
Here’s how…
So Montessori begins with following the child, fostering independence as much as possible, preparing yourself, and preparing their environment for developmental optimization (we’ll get into how to do this within this series as well).
That said, simply my observing your child to see where they are at & offering every opportunity to let them try something for themselves, you are beginning your Montessori journey and empowering + optimizing your baby’s earliest years!
If you are looking to journey with us and begin implementing Montessori, don’t forget to check out my Montessori Baby Shoppe! In this shop, I linked a ton of my favorite Montessori gadgets and practical life materials to make it easy for your to piece together your Montessori collection!
