My Muses

There are so many reasons why people come to be where they are today, whether it be people you meet, decisions you make, roads you take, or all of those combined…

And while sometimes things happen that leave us with a heavy heart and make us question paths we may have chosen, there is always something positive that comes out of those decisions and I am a firm believer that it is our duty to find out what that is.

In my journey through this baby world, there have been many people who have changed my life and influenced my path in so many different ways.

To my absolutely wonderful Infant Teacher Friends:

(These ladies are teachers I have worked with over the years, all coming from different backgrounds and biases, and all equally as incredible.)

The selflessness, caring, and hard working approach you all take everyday with the infant students is nothing short of beyond remarkable. I will be the first one to vouch to say that that job is NOT easy. It takes a special someone to be in that position, and your work has consistently left me speechless and inspired. So thank you for just being your wonderful selves.

To my professors:

I was so lucky to have had so many Early Childhood Professors and AMI MISD Assistants to Infancy Teachers that exuded passion in every lecture and presentation they gave. It was their excitement that fueled my already flaming passion for learning about infant development. And it was that same excitement that consistently drew me in, leaving me always wanting to learn more.

My last semester of undergrad, I remember I had one specific professor that had us all stand up at the end of our final class and and say “I am a Child Development Expert!” And when we didn’t say it loud enough, she had us say it louder. I must say that experience was particularly empowering to me and one that I incorporate in everything that I do.

And finally, to my parents:

Not only have I been lucky enough to have the best examples of hard-working and dedicated work ethics, I’ve been given the best support system anyone could ask for. My parents are two people who always put their own needs aside to make sure that I was being raised to be the best version of myself. It is because of them that I was given all of the opportunities to learn, the desire to grow, and the drive to succeed, and for all of that I’m so eternally grateful.

So, back to you my baby loving friends,

I know we each have our own unique, beautiful stories, and I’m glad I was able to give you a sneak peak into mine. If there has been anything that I have learned working with infants and their families, it’s that the world of babies is nothing short of personal. We all laugh together, cry together, help each other grow and most importantly support each other through all of that.

My professional career has been a slew of situations that were immensely beautiful and filled me with joy, and others that tested every ounce of my being. And for all of those experiences I am so grateful, as every single one has contributed to where I am at today, and that is here with you all.

Xoxo,
